|Story/s:|| "You're a Jerk",|
Captain America (Sam Wilson) swoops in and saves a family from a car falling off a bridge. Once saving the family and back on top of the bridge he’s put in the spot light asked to buy cookies off one of a group of Girl Cadets. It’s turned into a “you will he pick” situation until Sam spots Tony Stark in the crowd. He turns the attention off him and onto Tony.
They ‘escape’ in Tony’s flying car. Turns out Tony has sold the old Avengers building due to financial problems with his company and the lack of Avengers and all.
At that moment in the old Avengers tower the new owner taking possession and moving out the old hardware when there is an explosion after explosion after explosion. Turns out it was part of a teleportation process (or cellular relay reconstitution) and that the one being teleported is a Chitauri Warlord. A mystery man who bought the building understands Chitauri speaking in their native tongue. He tells the Chitauri of an ancient chitauri relic hidden here and earth.
Before he can continue he realises they are being spied on by Spider-Man (Miles Morales). Next we see Miles being blown out the side of the building trying hard not to black out. Luckily Stark and Captain America were in the neighbourhood and save Spider-Man and innocent bystanders.
They all make their way back to the hole in the building, Tony now in armour transformed from his car (looking very Hulk Buster). The three of them are quickly taken down by the Chitauri Warlord with a blast of intense heat.
SIDE STORY “You’re a Jerk”:
Six weeks ago. Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)’s local area is terrorised by a large blue monster who Nova (Sam Alexander) is engaging. Ms. Marvel grows in size to tackle the beast and ends up in Nova’s way. turns out he’s got a gun that can re-shrink it to the Microverse.
This is followed by an awkward personal interaction.
It was ok. Not the best of starts. The mysterious stranger in the building reeks of Loki… but could just be me. I’m interested enough to buy the next issue, so that’s something I guess.
