The Terrigen Mist rolls over Australia and Gordon, Dinesh and Flint are taking samples of it as they make their way to Sydney.
They are greeted by Swain who has a lizard tail and a knack for diplomacy.
There is a protest in Australia square. Protesting that the Terrigen Mist was an intentional chemical attack and that they must stop the alien half-breeds (Inhumans). To stop their corruption of the “pure humans”. They have a highly non human looking Inhuman in a cage to demonstrate their point. Crystal arrives to disband the protest and free the Inhuman in a cage. She uses her elemental powers to disperse the crowd then is attacked directly by the one of the protestors. She burns off his mask revealing he too is an Inhuman. His men turn on him but Crystal saves him. He goes to attack Crystal again but she captures him and causes him to pass out by sucking the air out of his lungs.
Denish destroys the protestors guns, and Flint causes them to scatter. Naja then uncloaks and free the caged Inhuman called Ash Minnick. Turns out since the cloud she doesn’t really feel anything emotionally.
Later Crystal meets with her sister Medusa where they discuss both possible negative impact of the above incident and any on any new information on the “Sky Spears”. Medusa leaves, leaving Gordon and Crystal alone to chat. They discuss a few things but the note worthy is that Gordon can’t risk using his powers without risking totally severing his spinal nerves. Also he doubts his ability to train NuHumans (New Inhumans) from a wheelchair to which she points out Charles Xavier did. They are interrupted by a transmission from Swain they they have found “it”.
“It” being a Sky Spear and it’s in Uluru (Ayers Rock). They fine glyphs on the Spear but their records show no match to any know language except one Glyph which matches perfectly to old Inhuman dialect that translates to “Genocide”.
They are interrupted by Swain to alert them that the Terrigen Mist cloud has entered a violently xenophobic, heavily militarised nation ruled by the dictator Sin-Cong.
Flash back to 3 months ago:
U.N. dignitaries board the Inhumans vessel for a tour in the hope they’ll approve of the Inhumans humanitarian mission. Swain gives them a guided tour of the vessel. They are discussing the politics of it all when they are attacked by a mutant called Frenzy. Crystal subdues her and locks her in the brig.
After the dignitaries leave Crystal reveals that the attack was all the an elaborate ruse to win the votes of the delegates. FRenzy is actually working with Crystal on the grounds that they are trying to help mutants AND Inhumans.
As an Australian I found this issue amusing for is language choices for the australians in the comic and for the fact the protesters all had guns. Overall I enjoyed this comic and am even now interested in finding out what the hell the Sky Spears are for and who or what sent them. I am also intrigued if Swain’s only power is she grew a tail.
