The nuclear missiles heading for Washington DC still, our heroes are in more danger then they realise.
The Atom, HawkGirl and the Flash continue to keep Green Lanterns body safe while he’s in the Grey. Meanwhile city after city is being lost to the Grey. In the Grey Alan is being tempted by a Grey created vision of Sam. As Grundy catches HawkGirl, Flash and Atom he goes to take Green Lanterns body when Alan finally breaks free of the grey’s false promises and realises there is a way to defeat Grundy, and that the Grey inadvertently told him how. Returning instantly to his body atacking Grundy and flying directly up with him.
While in the outer atmosphere still clutching Grundy he notices the nukes heading for Washington DC. He uses his power ring to catch them and throw them into space. This weakens him and Grundy feels it but before he can act Green Lantern flings him into the Moon where he will no longer have access to life to fuel him. This uses the last of his ring’s power and being so far from Earth he can’t recharge, so he falls.
With Grundy gone Atom goes back to his original orders; capture the “wonders” aka HawkGirl and Flash. They escape at high speed thanks to the Flash. After their escape Hawkgirl flies up and catches the falling Green Lantern. Once back on ground he recharges.
Flash suggests they become a team… the new Trinity. Green Lantern refuses, quit arrogantly at that and flies off. Not before shooting energy into the ground and giving the Earth a “booster shot” of sorts.
HawkGirl and Flash are left to wonder, “what do we do now” as fresh plants begin to grow at the spot the Lantern shot into ground.
So Grundy is on the moon hey… I’ll bet he returns somehow. Sloan doesn’t get his way and blow up Washington DC. He somehow seems displeased by the heroes saving the day. So they don’t form a team, the World Army still wants them captured and Flash is wondering what to do next. HawkGirl however mention Fate, maybe that’s her next destination.
Next issue… Mr Terrific.
