Dherain, the country that aided Steppenwolf in his invasion of Earth now offers refuge to the stranded Steppenwolf. But Steppenwolf is no fool, he knows King Marov’s true intention; to capture Steppenwolf and hand him over to the World Army for further protection of his land. Dherain has someone negotiated a treaty with the rest of the world to be left alone, and outside the World Council.
The fact plus their advanced technology thanks to Steppenwolf’s original treaty with them of shared technology makes it ripe for conquest. Little does King Marov know that while he thought he was playing Steppenwolf, Steppenwolf was playing him.
Steppenwolf’s Fury makes short work of the troops waiting to attack Steppenwolf and we learn Fury is actually Wonder Woman’s daughter, somehow turned to his dark command. He also mentions there a many other agents of Apokolips are still trapped on Earth.
Fury, like her mother is a fierce warrior but with a taste for blood.
King Marov and his soldiers try hard to bring down Steppenwolf by ultimately fail, with Steppenwolf taking King Marov’s head.
Steppenwolf then declares himself the new king of Dherain. The king is dead, Long Live the King!
It’s been 2 weeks since Steppenwolf took the throne, but still he hungers…. he hungers for the world. And he knows, treaties or no treaties, borders or no borders, once the world learns what has transpired in Dherain, that the World Army will come for him. They must prepare.
So Steppenwolf is trapped in Earth-2. So who did Supergirl and Robin see on that fateful day in that Boom Tube. I have a feeling they ended up on Earth Prime (or Earth-1 or whatever it’s called) and I’ll have to wait to read those comics to find out what happened. Probably wrong, but sounds like a fun theory. So the new heroes have to go up against someone who killed Wonder Woman and Superman. Eeek. 😛
