|Story/s:|| The Man Who Was Scared,|
The Tower of Fate: Prologue
Kendra (Hawkgirl) is trying to convince Khalid to don the Helm of Nabu for the sake of the coming darkness. He’s scared by the idea of wearing it again, it costs him dearly each time he wears it. It shares his mind and he feels it taking his mind, taking his sanity. So he refuses, much to Kendra’s disappointment. Just like her ‘disappointment’ in an arrogant Alan Scott. Turns out Khalid has sent the Helm away. She at least convinces him to at least watch over Jay while he contacts his Mum to let her know he’s OK.
Jay returns home to find his mother knows he’s the Flash and that a man named Dodd told her that they found his phone at the sight where the God Mercury died. Jay realises they’re in trouble but it’s too late the Atom smashes through the house to get to Jay. Jay does what he can to fight of the agents sent to capture him and the Atom, but Dodds (the Sandman) seems to dematerialise while looking on and rematerialise to capture Jay’s mother. Before Jay can do anything Khalid takes out Dodds with a plank of wood and the Flash speed’s them away.
As the Flash is running off with his mother and Khalid they are suddenly teleported away to some strange place. Major Sonia Sato is not impressed. Khalid claims to know the place even though he’s never been that. He senses it is Nabu’s realm. They quickly discover Wotan, a mage, had teleported them there as he needs Khalid Ben-Hassin’s help to enter the Tower of Fate and retrieve the Helm of Nabu.
So Fate has entered the ring, well sort of. Wotan is obviously the bad guy here, probably an ancient enemy of Nabu. That’s my thoughts anyhow. So the Flash is very important in the coming battle, that’s interesting. And the World Army know who he is, that can’t be good. And what is the significance of Sonia Sato. I’m not familiar with the name, then again I haven’t been a big DC reader until now.
I’m curious how they handle Fate in this earth as Green Lantern was interesting.
