|Story/s:||The Dark Age part 2|
The World Army Arkham Base has collapsed. Commander Khan is pinned down by a steel reinforcement rod through his stomach. Everyone else in the commander center seems alive and okay. Superman watches over the complex… looking for something. Flash decides he can’t be let to find whatever he’s looking for so distracts him by throwing a rock at him. And then runs… runs with all his might and Superman gives chase.
Batman and Major Sato are still arguing. Batman says there are 3 criminals he needs. As they battle they are intercepted by Lois Lane/Red Tornado. Batman overpowers Red Tornado and she calls him Bruce. This startles him for a second and Sato shoots him in the head. They turn their backs on the body and it disappears. Next thing you know he’s releasing his first captive… Queen of Atlantis (aka Aquawoman; a name she detests). Then he frees James Olsen, aka Accountable. He has an amazing mind for absorbing and processing information.
Meanwhile Superman used his ray vision to down Flash but because he is intrigued by his powers so he lets him live so he may one day serve Apokolips. He returns to the base with Flash in hand claiming Lord Darkseid has need Terrance Sloan and Michael Holt. He reports to Bedlam that the scientists are secure and to open the gates and release the hordes.
Back in the lower levels Olsen is analysing Sato’s phone when he informs them that hordes of Parademons are coming out of the Fire Pits; Rio, Rome, Karachi… everywhere.
Then Batman goes to his 3rd criminal, the Joker. Sato pleads not to release him and Batman replies “I didn’t say I’d release him.” and shoots him through the head.
I have to say I like this new Batman and his take no prisoners style. A true Dark Knight. Although it appears he’s not human as he overpowers an android and snaps Sato’s gun clip in half with his bare hands. But he doesn’t know who Bruce is, or is at least confused that the Red Tornado called him Bruce. But he is connected to real/orginal Batman somehow, as his hatred of the Joker shows. Interesting.
Also I wonder what bad boy Sups has installed for our two super brains.
