1979: Park Row, Gotham (now known as Crime Alley) Bruce Wayne watches his Mother and Father get shot down.
1194: Bruce/Batman finds the body of his parents killer in the morgue, his skull crushed. Just like the other victims who had links to the Falcone Family. Batman is sure there is a link so he pay Falcone a visit… in his fortified home. He sneaks into Falcone’s bedroom and injects him with truth serum.
He asks him about Joe Chill (the man in the morgue) and Falcone admits he does and he used him for just one job…. Thomas Wayne. Turns out in 1971 Thomas helped save Falcone’s life in a drive by shooting. Falcone invited him to a party to celebrate and that’s where it all started. Thomas got into the gangster life and parties. But then Martha and thomas had a child… Bruce… so they decided they needed to get out of that life. During his exit Thomas threatened to expose Falcone if he ever tried to interfere with his family. Bad mistake. Falcone didn’t take kindly to threats so first he had Thomas beat, but that wasn’t enough, so then he had him and his wife killed.
While questioning Falcone the mystery killer arrived to claim his next target… Falcone himself. Batman fights him off and places a tracker on him as he runs off. He tracks him down to an apartment above Crime Alley. He confronts him thinking he is Jarvis Pennyworth. How wrong could he be. Turns out our mystery killer is in fact Thomas Wayne.
Thomas and Bruce get into an argument over Thomas’s life choices, like his addiction to a strength inducing drug.
After Bruce rejects him he does all he knows how to do anymore… he kills Falcone.
But after watching his son die saving the World he did the best he believed he could, he honoured him but taking on the mantle of Batman.
The whole time he is telling Red Tornado and HawkGirl this story, as a reporter and detective respectively they would eventually uncover the truth so best to just tell them now.
He’s 65 yrs old and can only do this with the help of the drug.
This sort of reminds me of the Thomas Wayne Batman from the “Flashpoint” movie where the Flash accidently changes the course of history. And he kills the bad guys… that a darker dark knight.
