|Story/s:||Power and Glory part four|
Superman gives a sample of his blood to Cyborg for testing. Silas (Cyborgs dad) is a little excited about having a sample of Kryptonian blood.
Rao is now on a mission to “bless” everyone in New York, in the world for that matter. Everyday millions are being blessed.
In Gotham General Hospital Batman is trying to MRI a ‘covert’ of Rao to find out what happens when you are converted.
Back in ancient Krypton Green Lantern is meeting with Rao… who turns out to be an old man. But after a strange ceremony drains youth from his prophets and becomes young again and looks as we currently know him in present time, just without any powers (yet to be sure) without his impressive technology. He pleads with Green Lantern to help restore peace to his lands.
Back at Gotham General we learn their are protein markers on the crook/convert’s DNA… like he was genetically rewired. We cross to a scared girl be forced to be ‘blessed’ and as soon as she is, her fear disappears.
Cyborg contacts Superman to inform him he has the same protein markers as the other converts BUT his aren’t new, they appear to be bred into him, as a species.
Batman and the doctor helping him are attacked by a prophet of Rao while in communication with Cyborg and Superman. Superman however is confronted by Rao himself.
So what’s Rao up to, I doubt it’s just ego drives his need to be worshipped. If I didn’t know any better after seeing the ceremony of his de-aging in the past and the fact he is over 250,000 years old, I’d say he need lives to drain to keep his youth. Just my theory, we’ll see. Superman’s whole race genetically programmed to worship Rao is interesting. Still curious how this destroys all life in all time. Maybe that’s a different battle. I’m liking this version of Batman too, and that’s coming from a non-batman fan.
Hopefully next issue we’ll find out Flash’s fate and hopefully how he gets out of 1961.
