In an unknown location Scorpio of the Zodiac seeks guidance from the fortune telling Gemini who tell him if he acts today he will be rewarded and if he doesn’t, S.H.I.E.L.D. wins. So with that, the Zodiac plan their attack.
In New York Peter Parker is unveiling the new Parker Industries New York head office… the Baxter Building.
On seeing this and Peter referring to it as a “Fixer-upper” on the TV Johnny Storm is none too impressed and flies over to confront Peter.
The confrontation doesn’t go well with it turning into a battle as Human Torch (Johnny) lets his temper get to him.
Meanwhile SHIELD is under full attack over the East China Sea by the Zodiac. They manage to disable the S.H.I.E.L.D. cruiser and plummet it into the sea (probably using the data stolen from Parker). While on board the Scorpio kills Leo for his failure then they exit the ship via the Pisces’ ships.
Back in New York Johnny Storm has cooled down a little. We find Harry Lyman (aka Harry Osborn) runs the place when Peter is not there. He then shows Johnny the vehicle bay and Johnny’s temper flares up again at Spider-Man building a new Spider-Mobile without him. During this pointless battle Clayton Cole (the reformed Clash) becomes worried about people getting hurt and takes on Torch with his Clash tech. Spider-Man take off his costume in secret and as Peter Parker cools Clayton down and ends the fight.
Peter then shows Johnny the Lobby with its monument to the Fantastic Four scalped by Alicia Masters herself.
Johnny is finally happy the building is with “family”.
While relaxing together with Osborn Peter gets a high priority signal from Mockingbird of S.H.I.E.L.D. that they are about to go ahead with a global strike against the Zodiac. The Torch agree to tag along.
Nadua, Africa… we find a bandaged Mr Osborn agreeing to take down Parker Industries.
Another enjoyable ride 🙂 As silly as Human Torch’s and Spider-Man’s fight were they were still fun. And the whole story reminded you of the good hearted person Peter is, and really re-enforced it. Plain and simple, Peter is a good guy, even to old enemies. I really like that part of the comic.
Now these Zodiac fella sound like real trouble and their Gemini fortune tellers can’t be a good thing. And the implied relation between Nick Fury and Scorpio sounds interesting.
