W.H.I.S.P.E.R. Headquarters: The Maker (a Reed Richards from another dimension who went wrong) is performing surgery on someone or something, explaining what he’s doing in Paris. He’s digging for souls. He found Evald Skorpion’s and downloaded it into a new form, a perfect higher dimensional crystal, a Neohedron, a “Life-minus”. Then he grafted Evald to a super body created from scorpion and gorilla genes, and set him to work converting the living and excavating the dead. Why? Because the Maker believes they are in a new universe, a reborn universe and he needed scientific proof that universes existed before the current one, so he’s been excavating souls to use them to triangulate to find older ghosts older and older then the next, mapping those previous universes.
Paris, France: The team are confronted by Evald Skorpion and converted S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Wiccan turns their guns in birds. Dugan informs the team the agents don’t need guns and that they are enhanced…. Gamma enhanced. So the agents turn into artificial Hulks. Squirrel Girl and White Tiger take them out by destroying their Gama charging wristbands. But in doing so it leaves them open for a blast from Evald’s tail, converting then into the Life-minus.
Evald goes in for the attack to convert the rest of the team, but Songbird erects a solid sound shield around them which to the Makers surprise deflects Evalds conversion rays.
At that moment the Maker loses power and is visited by an ancient ghost by the name Mor-I-Dun of the 5th cosmos, the dark cosmos. He declares he wants to stay in this 8th universe.
The scientists and engineers theorise that there is a vibrational component to the ghosts, that the Neohedron covering their heads can be removed if they find the right frequency and Power Man could be able to find that frequency. So they try it by Wiccan linking Powerman and Songbird telepathically and Songbird uses Power Mans Chi-vision to find the frequency and then she screams. Her scream shatters the neohedrons revealing all the victims heads and shatters Evald’s totally, saving Paris.
Agent Dugan and Hawkeye are impressed. Upon saving Paris, Mor-I-Dun disappears from the Maker’s base and their power comes back on.
I’m intrigues by this “Evil Reed Richards”… the Maker. Imagine what Reed would be possible of without a conscience or sense of morality. Scarey.
The team work and using the scientists and engineers on base to help out was interesting, makes you wonder how the team would cope without that backup.
Squirrel Girl fascinates me in what she can do. I know nothing about her so I’m learning as I go. To be honest I thought she was stupid, but I’m warming to her slowly.
