When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.
All your favourite smurfs are there, even if their appearance is short. My personal favourite was the addition of Narrator Smurf who actually narrates sections of the movie
Personally I’d give it a 6/10 rating wise, but it wasn’t meant for my age group, it was targeted at the kids, which by luck I was with my 7 year old niece and when asked what her score was she gave it a 9/10. So great movie for the kids and nice and nostalgic for the kids in us adults who got dragged along.
If I have the cash spare, I’ll be buying this once its on DVD as a great babysitting film that I can actually sit through with the youngens.
So smurf yourself along and get smurfy with this smurfing film and you’ll have a smurf of a good time smurfing with Papa and the gang.
And lets not forget the original cartoon:
